Hezhongsi Wins Bid for Low-Temperature Flue Gas Multi-Effect Flash Evaporation Concentration Device - Yan'an Power Plant (2X660MW) Desulfurization Wastewater Zero Discharge Project, March 2023
On April 17, Hezhongsi (Beijing) Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hezhongsi) won the bid for the desulfurization wastewater zero discharge project of Datang Environmental Yan'an Power Plant (2X660MW). Located in Jizi Xianzhen, Fuxian County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province, this project will see Hezhongsi responsible for the process package design and main equipment supply of the low-temperature multi-effect flash evaporation concentration device.
With increasingly stringent national environmental protection requirements, the wastewater treatment market urgently needs a desulfurization wastewater treatment process with lower construction and operating costs and the ability to truly achieve zero discharge. Low-temperature flash evaporation technology has emerged due to national policy promotion and market selection.
The volume of desulfurization wastewater accounts for a relatively small proportion of the total wastewater in power plants. However, due to its high salt content, large water quality fluctuations, multiple pollutants, high turbidity, and high hardness, desulfurization wastewater is the most complex and difficult wastewater to treat in coal-fired power plants.
In this project, in order to achieve zero discharge of high-salt wastewater generated from desulfurization at Datang Yan'an Power Plant, Hezhongsi's technical team adopted the Hezhongsi® HLTC low-temperature evaporation and concentration process based on the influent water quality.
The Hezhongsi® HLTC low-temperature evaporation and concentration process package is a new generation of energy-saving and environmentally friendly desulfurization wastewater zero-discharge process technology developed by Hezhongsi (Beijing) Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. based on the characteristics of desulfurization wastewater and market needs.
The Hezhongsi® HLTC low-temperature evaporation and concentration process combines the treatment of desulfurization wastewater with waste heat utilization, greatly reducing the treatment cost. The HLTC process draws on the technical principle of gypsum seeding antifouling in the salt chemical industry. The Hezhongsi technical team has made many creative improvements, including adjusting process parameters and optimizing equipment structure, to maximize the delay or elimination of scaling inside the evaporator.

(1) No pretreatment is required, no reagent cost consumption, no sludge generation, and low operating cost;
(2) The concentration system uses negative pressure and low-temperature operation, which can effectively prevent or reduce equipment corrosion;
(3) The heat source for low-temperature flash evaporation concentration is flue gas waste heat, without increasing new energy consumption;
(4) The entire system has few equipment and a short process, resulting in low investment cost.
