Returning to Jiangxi after four years

On October 10, General Secretary Xi Jinping went to Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province for inspection and research. This is the General Secretary's return to Jiangxi after four years.

What did the General Secretary focus on this time in Jiangxi? Judging from his itinerary in Jiujiang, there are at least two important focal points.

The first focal point: Yangtze River Culture, Continuing the Cultural Heritage

In November 2020, when presiding over a symposium on comprehensively promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in Nanjing, Jiangsu, the General Secretary emphasized the need to protect, inherit, and promote the Yangtze River culture. He said that the Yangtze River has created a millennium-old cultural heritage from the Bashan and Shu waters to the Jiangnan water towns, and is a representative symbol of the Chinese nation and an iconic symbol of Chinese civilization. "We must protect, inherit, and promote the Yangtze River culture well, continue the historical cultural heritage, and strengthen cultural confidence."

Looking at a map, we can see that all of Jiangxi's 152 kilometers of Yangtze River coastline is located within Jiujiang. In Jiujiang, General Secretary Xi Jinping first inspected the Jiujiang urban section of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park. Yangtze River culture is his first important focal point.

The second focal point: Prioritizing Ecology and Green Development

Jiujiang is both a cultural center and an economic powerhouse.

In January 2016, when presiding over the first symposium on the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the General Secretary pointed out that promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt must consider the long-term interests of the Chinese nation and take the path of prioritizing ecology and green development.

Two years later, at the second symposium on the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, he once again emphasized that the Yangtze River Economic Belt should forge a new path of prioritizing ecology and green development.

In November 2020, at the third symposium on the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the General Secretary put forward a new goal: to make the Yangtze River Economic Belt the main battlefield for China's ecological priority and green development.

On the afternoon of the 10th, General Secretary Xi Jinping also visited the Jiujiang branch of Sinopec, to understand the green development and transformation and upgrading of petrochemical enterprises. The Jiujiang branch of Sinopec was built and put into operation in October 1980, with an annual crude oil processing capacity of 10 million tons, and is Jiangxi's only large-scale petrochemical enterprise. Last year, Jiujiang Petrochemical completed and put into operation an 890,000-ton/year aromatics project, marking China as the third country to independently master the third-generation petrochemical aromatics production technology. Technological innovation, low-carbon transformation, and intelligent manufacturing have become the keywords for the development of this energy enterprise.

Therefore, this Jiujiang inspection shows Prioritizing ecology and green development General Secretary Xi Jinping's high importance and ardent expectations for the Yangtze River Economic Belt, which is also the second important focus of the General Secretary's visit to Jiujiang.

The Jiangxi Shenhua Jiujiang Power Plant's 2*1000MW unit desulfurization wastewater zero-discharge EPC project is located in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, and is a model of the national circular economy initiative. The Jiujiang Power Plant has two 1 million KW units, with a total installed capacity of 2 million KW. The power plant officially started generating electricity in 2018 and has been in operation for three years. This project will build two 1000MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating units, and will simultaneously build two sets of limestone-gypsum wet flue gas desulfurization devices and their public systems, carrying out full flue gas desulfurization under BMCR conditions, with a desulfurization efficiency of no less than 99%.

Hezhongsi (Beijing) Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. provided the design of the low-temperature evaporation and concentration process package and the supply of core equipment for this project.

This project uses the Hezhongsi® HLTC low-temperature evaporation and concentration process package. Compared with traditional technologies, this technology is more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. Under the conditions of 60,000 mg/L influent TDS and a water treatment volume of 20T/H, only 30KW/H of electricity is consumed to evaporate one ton of wastewater, saving 30KW/H compared to traditional process schemes. With an annual system operation of 5500 hours, it reduces coal consumption by 1584 tons of standard coal/year and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 4276.8 tons of carbon dioxide/year.

Hezhongsi (Beijing) Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. has always been committed to General Secretary Xi Jinping's concept of prioritizing ecology and green development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and has made contributions to China's environmental protection cause with practical actions.
