Promoting the comprehensive management of groundwater overdraft Revitalizing the ecological environment of rivers and lakes

Water is an important natural resource and environmental element essential for the survival of all life and indispensable for socio-economic development. However, population growth, industrial and agricultural production activities, and rapid urbanization in modern society have had a huge impact on limited water resources and the water environment. Globally, water pollution, the rapid increase in water demand, and unreasonable utilization caused by inter-sectoral competitive development have further exacerbated water scarcity and deteriorated the water environment, seriously affecting socio-economic development and threatening human well-being.
China's total water resources account for 7% of the world's total water resources, ranking 6th in the world. However, the per capita water resources are only 2200 cubic meters, about 1/4 of the world average, ranking 128th, and is listed as one of the 13 water-scarce countries in the world.
Therefore, it is necessary to improve water use efficiency, effectively and rationally utilize water resources, reduce water pollution, strengthen wastewater treatment and its sustainable management through technological and management measures, so that every drop of water can play its maximum value!
